Wool Retention 'Push-on' 304-SS Speed Clips & Weld on Pins

41 items left

A Great way to support ceramic wool blanket on ceilings and over large wall spans.

The 304 SS pins (nails) are typically tack welded to the forge or foundry outer shell, the blanket is pushed on, and the square 1.5" washer-type clips are simply pushed onto the pins as far as required to hold the wool securely in place.

The wool can then be left as is, rigidized, an or coated with a thin coat (Dragon Skin &/or Alien Skin) or a castable from 3/8" to several inches thick, whether Insulating Castables (KOL-30-Li+, or GreenLite 45 L+,), or harder, denser castables (more commonly on floors where added durability is needed (from KS-4V+ or GR+, to Ultra Express 70+ (a flux impervious self levelling castable) or a combination which may include a thin layer of the flux repellant GreenCast 94+.

These pins are 3" long and can be cut once the wool and clips are in place.  304 SSPins can be welded to the base metal of mild steel with any standard mig or stick used for mild steel.  Though 309 or 309L welding rods are optimal, they are not necessary or commonly used on the cold face.  (We do usually have 309L welding materials available in limited quantities if required however).

Note:  By special request we also have weldable wool retention pins with twist lock retention clips up to 9" long.  All pins can be spaced as required.
