Introducing the Refractory Felt (Paper) from Canadian Forge & Farrier, designed for high-temperature insulation needs. This versatile product is available in two thicknesses: 1/8" thick rated at 2400°F and 1/4" thick rated at 2100°F. Ideal for farriers, blacksmiths, and industrial applications, this felt is crafted from a nonwoven matrix of insulating calcium, magnesium, and silicate fibres, held together with a pressed latex binder.
Key features include low thermal conductivity and the ability to shape, wrap, and cut easily, making it perfect for creating efficient thermal transfer breaks between components. Typical uses include automotive and aerospace heat shields, oven and stove gaskets, and backup insulation for high-temperature furnaces.
Each roll is 24" wide and sold by the square foot, with a density of 9-10 pcf. The cold face of the paper typically maintains about 50% of the temperature of the hot face between 1000°F and 2000°F, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments.
