Kerckhaert Half Swedge Hind Steel Horseshoes - per Pair

One of the most well-recognized shoes in Standardbred Racing. The half round-half swedge is the technical name for this shoe as the outer branch has the swedge (rim) and the inside branch is half round. This is most commonly used to help keep the path of the travel wider. It might also be used on the back of a Trotter that is speedy-cutting (interfering). It helps with pacers that crossfire (right hand hitting the left front and vice versa). The support in the heel area, with a slightly wider lateral heel, increases the horse's chances of remaining sound.

The clipped version of the Swedge shoe offers additional security for the shoeing cycle. The strong clip assists in preventing shoes from sliding back during performance or while in the stall.
