Rated at 3000 °F (beyond steel welding heat). A lightweight, high alumina insulating castable with a hydraulic set. It can be used on its own, or as a layer over top of wool (best to toughen up the wool first with our freeze proof rigidizer to prevent its compression during application), etc. This is a gem of the industry.
- Kast-O-Lite 30 LI Plus does not have the density and burner durability of MIZZOU (also a 3000 °F castable), but it is lighter and offers superior insulation.
- This keeps the outside walls of your forge cooler while keeping the heat in.
- aluminum furnace stacks
- aluminum holding furnace doors
- furnace discharge doors
- air heaters
- hot face or back up linings
- petrochemical heaters
It's quite heavy and by ordering only what you need, you will realize saving in freight.
1 Gallon Pail = 1/6 of a full bag, and a 2 Gallon Pail = 1/3 Bag.
World events are temporarily complicating supply of choice castables like Mizzou and Kast-O-Lite 30 from the manufacturer, and we are trying to maintain our supply chains. If you've used Kast-O-Lite, you'll appreciate it's unsurpassed performance. During these times, for the sake of all, we are trying to maintain stock and I encourage you to order what you need and not more.
To make this easier, we've broken full bags out into 1 and 2-gallon pails, which corresponds to increments of 9.5 lbs each gallon. Pails offer the added utility of more secure storage, greater durability for shipping, ease of use, better moisture protection, and extended shelf life.
For now, we are discouraging large orders stockpiling Kast-O-Lite 30, but if you have a large project needing a multitude of products and larger quantities of Mizzou please call and I'll see what I can do.
Kast-O-Lite can be coated with ITC 100 HT, once cured, to optimize forge efficiency, and with ITC-296A (ITC-296A and ITC 213 are in stock and launching online soon) for improved flux resistance.
