One of my favourite Refractory mortars. Sold ready to use (wet). It has better surface application properties than many other refractory mortars (It is superior to many other air hardening 3000°F mortars in this class when being applied as a surface repair or top coat. Its additional stabilizers help avoid checking and cracking which are common with some other refractory mortars
(See the comparison in the photo below, contrasting Clayburn HD-DC 50 and Sairset 3000. it does not crack like many of popular air hardening 3000°F when applied as a surface repair or skincoat.)
3100°F Refractory Mortar. Texture is indistinguishable from Sairset 3000. The color can be a little darker, though the color of Sairset varies between batches.
A wet air-setting (hardening mortar). The manufacturers both advise that small amounts of water can be added to the mortar if mixed well for a runnier texture, as may be applicable when 'dip coating' brick sides in brick stacking applications, though adding water will decrease strength proportionately.
