Our Fireplace replacement panels are typically either 1", 1.25" or 1.5" thick, with a brick pattern on the fireside, and are professionally cast with materials and to standards above the standards of commercial N—American fireplace panels. Our panels include 304 SS needles throughout and are professionally vibration-cast and furnace-cured. Stove, Furnace or Fireplace Panels are cast or cut to shape.
We can make panels, castings, multiple component tongue and groove round boiler firepots etc, with refractories to 95% Alumina in extreme environments.
Casting the same panels in repetition is easy when building a new stove. The reason replacement panels are increasingly unavailable after the original manufacturer's inventory is depleted the cost to make single custom recast panels can be prohibitive. Doing it well involves many hidden steps and challenges. Custom-casting novel fireplace panels with different geometries, mitred edges, brick patterns, thicknesses, and shapes is typically labour- and process-intensive.
We have designed a proprietary new process that allows us to make custom brick-patterned panels at half what it cost us last year (after investing tens of thousands in Equipment Development and Research & Development).
Please email (to support@canadianforge.com) a drawing (ie, rough blueprint) of the sizes of the panels needed. Please include the orientation (left, up, down, forward, rear, right, floor, etc.) Please include photos if possible (refer to one of the attached photos with sketches).
Note: We are building a stock of ready-made molds to cast panels of fireplace models that have been requested frequently (Majestic, Napoleon, etc.). Not many yet, but it's a growing inventory.
Be sure to accurately measure the thickness and check whether the back corners of the panels are cut at 45-degree bevels.
Note that our bricks have a higher 'alumina' content than standard fireplace bricks, allowing them to withstand higher temperatures without breaking and making them stronger. Higher density allows them to act as optimal heat sinks: stores of heat that then radiate out of the firebox for longer even after the fire is out (think of a heavy cast-iron stove or a European masonry stove).
Note that we have multiple shipping options depending on your location and the number and size of panels you need. Often, we can ship hundreds of lbs of panels at remarkably affordable rates. In addition to our average 72% shipping discount, we routinely source 12-15 quotes to optimize channels. There are a few tricks of the trade that can cut shipping costs to a fraction of regular public rates (& we utilize them all).
