1045 Carbon Steel Rod (various diameters near 2 inches +/-)

1045 is a mid carbon steel with a wide range of applications due to its tensile strength, good machine and weldability and versatility.  Though not quite as strong as 4140 steel, it is used in similar applications from hammers, hatchets, gears, bolts, crankshafts, structural plates, axles, shafts and die-forged parts.

Available here in a few sizes round rod is also available as 4140 tool steel in 2"  and other 4140 diameters and in lengths of mild steel rod @ Canadian Forge.

Some lengths of 1045 may be turned and polished, and others have a hot-rolled finish.
