Kerckhaert Half Swedge Hind Steel Horseshoes - unclipped

One of the most well-recognized shoes in Standardbred Racing. The half round-half swedge is the technical name for this shoe, as the outer branch has the swedge (rim), and the inside branch is half round. This is most commonly used to help keep the path of travel wider. It might also be used on the back of a Trotter that is speed-cutting (interfering). It helps with pacers that crossfire (right hand hitting the left front and vice versa). The support in the heel area, with a slightly wider lateral heel, increases the horse's chances of remaining sound.
