Therapeutic Wooden Hoof Clog with Leather Rim Pad

Wooden Shoes or Clogs are used to treat many hoof problems, from:

  • founder
  • laminitis
  • white line disease
  • broken coffin bones
  • long toe low heel syndrome
  • or just to develop a better hoof

A walking rehabilitation program is encouraged with these shoes on to enhance circulation, which helps to grow a proper hoof. All clogs (including standard clogs) come complete with the leather rim pad for comfortable sole relief.

**NEW Heavy Duty Option

Features for Heavy Duty Option:

  • For very wet conditions, we now offer clogs made of marine-grade wood that is resin impregnated under full vacuum & cured.
  • Available with a durable rubber base fused to the wood upper. This benefits the horse by adding shock absorbency, improved traction, and shedding ice and snow buildup in the winter. Unlike Urethane, true Rubber provides added traction in wet and frozen conditions.

Select the right size shoe, then place the hoof onto the shoe, and then attach it with glue or screws while the horse is standing on the shoe. Screws seem to be the best method.

Once the shoe has been attached to the hoof, it is now time for the DIM (2-part Dental impression material), such as Soundhorse Hoof Pack orFootPro Dim. Place the DIM hoof pack on the back of the heel from the widest part of the hoof to protect the heel bulbs from the casting material. Stretch wrap the DIM and let it cure for about 5 minutes, then remove the stretch wrap and cast with casting tape. (The New super soft Durometer 15 (shore A) DIM is also now available for near-zero pressure & void filling at the toe)

Adhesives and Casting Tape are sold separately.

Note: EVA/Wood and EVA/Foam shoe applications are similar, although if a laminitic horse stands camped out in front, I have seen the heels collapse, creating a negative palmar, which is why we've introduced the rubber base.

Note:  When purchasing clogs 'out-of-stock', we can fulfill the order, typically within 48 hours.  If you need them sooner, please call us asap.
