2800°F IFB Insulating Fire Bricks - 9 x 4.5 x 2.5"

A high-quality lightweight high-temp Insulated Fire Brick rated to 2800°F that can be installed in either a backing or a hot-fired application.  The low iron content is also suitable for reducing and high CO environments. It can withstand the consistent operating temperature of 2650 degrees, therefore perfect for high-temperature forge welding. IFB's bricks are much more porous, and not as mechanically strong as the Clipper DP bricks, though they too can be stacked dry or set using SAIRSET refractory mortar.  Though they have much less heat sink than denser bricks, these can still be coated with ITC 100 HTand benefit from the added efficiency of ITC 100's heat reflection properties.

Note - Upon Request these Bricks can be professionally cut into slices or shapes to suit, although, unlike dense firebricks, these IFBs are easy to cut with simple wood saws.  The Italian Diamond Wet saw is only available for custom jobs a few days a month.
